The commission
When Lacoste opened its Hong Kong flagship in Central’s Pedder Building, it commissioned local artist and our very own On The Wagon co-founder, Alvin C.K. Lam, to bring their vision to life.
Painted in watercolor, the artwork pays homage to the historic building and the streets around it, layering familiar Hong Kong details with touches of Lacoste’s French heritage. It is a meeting of place, memory and imagination, seen through the hand of a local artist.

02: FROM ARTWORK TO EXPERIENCE
From painting to the store
The watercolor became part of the flagship itself, enlarged across an interior wall as an immersive piece of the store.
It then travelled into the hands of customers, reimagined on a thankyou postcard and a custom tote bag created as a limited giveaway. One artwork, expressed at different scales, turning a retail opening into something personal and collectible.
03: THE COLLABORATION, BOTTLED
Three kombuchas
for Lacoste
Lacoste extended the collaboration to On The Wagon with a limited run of three kombuchas: Hojicha, Lychee Oolong and Jasmine. Each bottle carried a custom label built from Alvin’s artwork.
Created in our Hong Kong brewery, the bottles were gifted to customers who reached a qualifying spend in store. A locally made expression of hospitality, craft and the city that inspired the project.
